If you think to yourself, “No, I appreciate your insight, but I’m still going to sign up,” please consider this tips for your own self-preservation:
- Ask to see a paper copy of the contract BEFORE you sign anything
- Ask them to show you on that printed copy where the cancellation fee language is
- If they make you sign a digital copy, make sure to ask to read each section before you sign
- Check the auto-renew section; you do not want this checked on your contract. If you allow them to keep this on your contract, there is basically no scenario in which you will not have to pay an absurd cancellation fee
- Know that the customer service is not very good; you may have to call multiple times to get what you need (the number is 916-209-4175)
- Do not rely on their website for online bookings; book directly with your trainer and watch them put it in the system if possible
